Exciting news! New York City’s Secrets and Lies, my live storytelling show about wild NYC history, has been renewed for another year. We have dates at Caveat through December 2019, all at 7pm:
See what we’re about at our next show on 10/9. Tickets available at https://www.caveat.nyc/event/new-york-city’s-secrets-and-lies-10-9-2018.
I got to work today still tired from the very long week and my team told me, “Everyone at the company conference wanted to know how they could get you as their manager.” My sleepiness instantly evaporated. Take care of your people and everything else falls into place.
You’re a work-in-progress. We all are. Growing and evolving can be uncomfortable. We’re wriggling out of yesterday’s skin to become the best version of ourselves today. It’s a process. I breathe a little easier knowing we’re in this together.
Paging tattoo artists, lovers of good ink, and history nerds in New York City: I’m looking for 4 people to help me unravel New York City’s long and complicated tattoo history on stage with a packed audience. Are you that someone? Do you know someone who fits the bill? Let me know.
Wait, what?! Caveat, a speakeasy for intelligent nightlife in New York, is turning 1 year old and it’s throwing a birthday party on August 31st? Hell yeah it is, & my storytelling show NYC’s Secrets & Lies is doing a ripped from the headlines version of our show along with 13 other classy acts. Don’t miss it! I’ll see you there. Grab your tickets here.
I’m having such a fantastic time at the PatronManager Community Meeting (and we still have 1 day to go!) What an absolute joy to meet so many of our incredible arts clients and to be with our stellar team members. My heart is so full. I ADORE my product team and I’m insanely lucky to work with them!
I gave the keynote address today at our company meeting of our clients.
My message: care for your team members, clients, and partners as people first and employees second. Watch how your business transforms from being transaction-based to relationship-based.
Leadership as service and heart-centered is the most potent superpower I know in the world of business. And yes, that is 100% THE hill I will live, work, and die on.
(Hat tip to Bob Giampietro who first said those words to me 11 years ago. They changed my life and career, and I’ve never looked back.)
I’m so excited to share that my storytelling show New York City’s Secrets and Lies returns to Caveat on Tuesday, October 9th. The doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:00pm. Can you tell the difference between a secret and a lie? Four expert storytellers spin incredible tales about the secret pasts of NYC locations you walk by every day. All the stories are true except for one. If you can identify the lie, you’ll be in the running to win a pair of tickets to a secret NYC event put together by our pals at Untapped Cities.
Plus, did we mention there are fantastic drinks available, too? Don’t miss it. We can’t wait to see you!

What’s your #IWill?
Today I looked into a camera and said my weak things in a strong voice. I told my story about my intense struggles with PTSD after my apartment building fire, and how that recovery turned me into an author. I told my deepest, darkest secret, and I feel fierce and free. Link to video will be live soon.
