A Year of Yes: Work-in-progress

August 27, 2018 Christa Avampato

You’re a work-in-progress. We all are. Growing and evolving can be uncomfortable. We’re wriggling out of yesterday’s skin to become the best version of ourselves today. It’s a process. I breathe a little easier knowing we’re in this together.

A new episode of the JoyProject podcast is here—The Joy of Winnie-the-Pooh with Christine Caccipuoti @mynameispurpose! Listen https://christaavampato.com/the-joy-of-winnie-the-pooh-with-christine-caccipuoti/, or get it everywhere you get your podcasts. Link in bio, too. .@drewbarrymore what have you created with the @flowerhairtools ceramic straightening brush? In minutes, this brush took my wild chemo pincurls and transformed them into smooth straight hair with plenty of volume. I AM STUNNED! Thank you!!!!❤️❤️❤️ And @jvn 's @jvnhair shine drops to finish! You've made me feel a little more like me, a little more healed, a little further from what was a crazy journey through cancer during the pandemic. So grateful to you! (Important tip - the brush gets very hot so you have to use a heat protectant on your hair prior to using it.) If you need a break from life on this planet, hop over to @nasa @nasawebb telescope. When people ask me, “what do you do?” my response is always, “have you got a minute?” If they say yes, I say, “I’m a digital product developer / business leader / journalist / author / biomimicry scientist / public historian / tour guide, and I kicked cancer’s ass during a pandemic. Now I’m bundling up all of that experience together to fight climate change and protect the planet. Do you have any questions?” 😉 The Joy of #Photography episode of the #JoyProject #podcast with @amyselwynphotographer has so many inspiring ideas & thoughts. These are just a small handful of some of my favorites. Listen to her joy at https://christaavampato.com/the-joy-of-photography-with-amy-selwyn/ and everywhere you get your podcasts. The Joy of Photography episode of the JoyProject podcast with @amyselwynphotographer is filled with so many incredible & inspiring ideas & thoughts. These are just a small handful of some of my favorites. I have side effects from meds that prevent cancer recurrence: hot flashes, fatigue, depression, GI issues, lowered immunity. I started taking cacao today to see if it would help. This is how it's going... Last night my tiny research assistant (Phineas) & I went to Bethesda Fountain and Terrace in @centralparknyc at sunset. My 3rd novel opens here. I was looking for unique historical details in the architecture as anchors, symbols that would give the reader a clue to what's ahead for our girl in this last leg of the arc of her story. Ever wonder why July & August are the dog days of summer? The star Sirius is near the sun at this time. Ancients believed Sirius made days hotter. Not true scientifically, but a cool piece of history & mythology. (Harry Potter fans, this constellation is why Sirius Black's Patronus is a dog. Sirius is the brightest star in Canis Major.)
