A Year of Yes: The only work you have to do

July 23, 2018 Christa Avampato

The only work you have to do is find and do the work you’re meant to do. That’s enough; that’s always been enough. Just do that.

Joy is a battery and mine is fully charged after another incredible workshop week at @cambridgeuniversity with Cohort 13 in the Masters of Sustainability Leadership program! Amazing classmates who've quickly become friends, professors, speakers, and @cisl_cambridge staff -- you filled my mind and heart with wisdom, inspiration, fun, and gratitude as we make the world a better place for all beings. These are special times that are changing my life in magical ways. There is so much darkness across the globe and we are meeting it with light and love. I'll be posting loads of photos and insights learned in the coming week as I reflect on our shared experiences! Rest assured it was wonder-filled! Happy Spring from the UK! This week of learning at @cambridgeuniversity around social issues and their link to sustainability has my brain and heart buzzing. We have so much to do to right the world, and I'm excited to be a part of it in this new season of life. Ready to fall into bed after a full birthday but could not let the moment pass without saying I'm gobsmacked by all the love I received from all of you today. Gosh, I'm the luckiest!!! Today's adventures: walking to Globe Theatre in the rain for a wonderful tour, a visit to the Tate Modern, lunch at Borough Market, walking through Kennington Park after a double-decker bus ride, time at ustwo games studio, and then a ferry ride on the Thames to have West African food for dinner before catching a performance of Burnt City with my wonderful friend, @jenniferestaris. I'll have loads more to say about all of this later this week, and now I need to rest up before toddling off to Cambridge tomorrow to begin a very full week of learning. Thanks for making my day so special. 💕 It was another banner day in London! Started at the stunning @britishmuseum wound my way through the delightful maze of bucolic St. Martin's, on to the frozen-in-time Churchill War Rooms, over to the jaw-dropping @natural_history_museum and then back to King's Cross. My feet and legs are tired and my heart is full. This last day of this year was filled with wonder, joy, and surprise. Tomorrow I start my next trip around the sun with a day and night full of theater. I'm the luckiest! (A wild(life) happening -- a red fox ran right by me on the street near the British Museum!) Oh London, you gorgeous babe. I'm so happy to see you again! I've been smiling so much today that my cheeks hurt. Freshly washed and moisturized face, comfy clothes, golden red hair up, green juice, too-heavy bag checked, apartment cleaned top to bottom for my lovely guests, sleepy and filled with joy and gratitude. I'm off to the UK, which is starting to feel like my second home. I'm excited to see friends and revel in the theater, museums, and history of London before heading off for an intensive week of learning at @cambridgeuniversity. I can't wait to see my inspiring classmates, professors, and guest speakers. Wheels up! A bit of fun writing news. @medium loved my most recent piece about climate change and boosted it across all their channels. Link in bio and below. Let me know what you think! I'm so grateful to expand the reach of my climate change storytelling. This one has a bit of an #Oscars twist, too. Thank you @nasa @nasaclimatechange for the image. This photo is how I feel thinking of the busyness of the next 3 months. One day, one moment at a time...and make sure to find the joy...and be grateful I'm busy with good things and healthy! High tens on this International Women's Day and every day to all of the incredible women I know and have worked with over the years. We have come a long way and we still have a long way to go. Strong, empathic, courageous women—may we be them, know them, and raise them!👐
