Write every day: Please wear a mask and save a life

May 13, 2020May 13, 2020 Christa Avampato

Yesterday I needed to actively do something to help in the COVID-19 efforts so I made this 30-second video to show the beauty of people caring for their communities and neighbors by wearing a mask. Please, wear a mask and save a life. Thank you.

Spending as much time as possible outside. Looking for the light so I can boost my spirits and strength to keep working for a better world.💚 Let this be the day we all act to protect our communities. Join @everytown. #EndGunViolence Have you been sitting on an idea for a podcast for a while? They are 8, 9, and 10 years old. And a dedicated teacher. Tell me again why gun possession is a more important right than a child's life and violence free education. Tell me again why it's easier to access a gun than it is to access basic survival needs. Tell me again what's wrong with universal background checks. Tell me what it is that scares you more than sending a child off to school and never seeing them alive again. Tell me again how conservative family values aligns with easy access to deadly weapons. Tell me again about freedom when we can't even trust that a child's education is safe from deadly force. I'm tired of politicians who sit on their hands and the people who support them. I'm tired of innocent people dying while we do nothing to stop this from happening again and again and again. I'm tired and furious and sickened and frustrated and outraged. Aren't you? I'm willing to do whatever it takes to protect the lives of children and the teachers and staff who educate them so that they stop dying senselessly on a random Tuesday. Aren't you? The picture on the left is me exactly a year ago. The picture on the right is me today. If you or someone you know is waging a health battle now, I'm here to show you that you can make your way back to health and wholeness.  Another scorcher in NYC today so I'm posting this earlier in the year than usual. Take care of your kiddos, doggos, and yourselves. Hydrate, seek out the shade, & take it easy. Keep the pups off that hot pavement to protect their paws and bellies (especially for low riders & small dogs.) Morning love meditation: Get into Friyay with some joyful news! In this mini-episode of the JoyProject podcast, I talk about: I'm happy to share this interview I did on the @they_had_fun podcast. Hear how my ability to wax poetic about NYC #pizza in @nytimes sparked my friendship w/ the host, Rachel Josar, why my pandemic was a little extra, & the fun I had on @thedrewbarrymoreshow. 🥳 NYC, it's been a long 2 yrs. Let's have more fun together! https://theyhadfun.buzzsprout.com/1983780/10636645-cranky-optimism-with-christa-avampato
