Inspired: The Hardest Part of All Changes

All changes are tough, even the ones that are blessings. With every change, something dies and falls away. We mourn the loss of the good and the bad. To wipe the slate clean, we have to go through this loss of the old to make way for the new. Give yourself the space and time to process the loss, even though it may be welcomed and expected. Go through the motions. Take all the steps. Feel all the feelings. No regrets.

  1. In the last year or two, there have been some important parts of my professional life that I’ve given up — not because I was forced to do it, but because the time was right. I was just “done” with these things. I agonized through the process of saying goodbye, and feared their absence in my life. But what’s amazing is now that time has passed, I don’t regret saying goodbye. Plus, I have more room in my life for new rewarding experiences and wonderful people. I learned that you can’t do everything forever, so you have to focus on what’s most important to you.

    1. Love this, Carolyn. What a great reminder! I’m in the process of doing this now and your story really helps. Thank you!
